Wijk aan Zeeër Reddingsbrigade (WRB) has been present on the beach of Wijk aan Zee since 1925. The association’s goal is to prevent and combat drowning in the broadest sense. We do this through preventive and corrective actions at sea and through training in swimming and water rescue. We have members and donors, and we store and treat their personal data confidentially and carefully. In this privacy statement, you can read how we handle this.
Applicability
This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal information (hereinafter: Personal Data) provided by members, donors, contributors, and relationships, as well as data obtained from the use of the website. The entity responsible for the data processing is WRB.
How does WRB collect personal data?
As part of our services, WRB collects data. This occurs when you become a member or donor or otherwise contact WRB.
What personal data does WRB collect?
WRB may collect contact information such as (company) name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, and bank details, transaction and donation details, or data relevant to your contact with us or your financial contribution as a member, donor, or one-time donor.
Why does WRB collect personal data?
WRB processes Personal Data to carry out our tasks. Personal data is also processed to keep you informed about our activities, projects, and fundraising, such as if you have subscribed to our email newsletter.
Your personal data and third parties
WRB will never sell your personal data to third parties. However, we may share personal data within partnerships when necessary. We also use systems or services from suppliers, which may have access to data from our members and donors or insight into our rescue actions. In all cases, we ensure that these parties provide sufficient safeguards for privacy protection and security. Personal data of our members is shared with Reddingsbrigade Nederland, which links the membership administration with Sportlink. Data regarding first aid diplomas is shared by WRB with Het Oranje Kruis and EHBK, which provide first aid training.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data processed by WRB at any time, free of charge, and can request adjustments to your data. If you wish, we can provide your contact, address, and bank details in a format, for example, if you wish to provide these to another organization. You may also object to receiving targeted information about our services via email, phone, or mail. You can send such requests to WRB, Zeestraat 371, 1949 AH Wijk aan Zee, or email us at info@reddingsbrigade-wijkaanzee.nl. You can also contact us with any questions regarding how WRB handles your data.
Your email address
If you have provided your email address, it may be used to inform you as a donor or member about relevant information and invitations from WRB. If you no longer wish to receive this, you can unsubscribe at any time.
Deleting data
You may also request that your data be removed from our database. Please note that we may not always comply with such a request. For example, if you are or have been a donor, the tax authorities require us to retain records for 7 years. If you request that we no longer contact you with fundraising requests, we must retain your name to exclude you from future campaigns. If we cannot comply with your request, we will provide the reason.
How does WRB secure personal data?
We only use data that has been explicitly and voluntarily provided by individuals as a member or donor or those visiting our website. You may provide your personal data to request information. WRB may use your data to inform you about relevant products and services. If you object to this or wish to correct or request your data, you can contact us. WRB will not provide your data to third parties without your express prior consent unless we are legally required to do so or based on a court ruling. Participants in a discussion forum give consent for their data to be registered and published on the internet.
